16th Arkansas Camp Orders

 

 

1.  Upon arrival at the event site, and after registration, all members of the Company are to report in to their respective  Company Officer's.

2.  Upon arrival Friday night you are to go to your assigned company street, off load your tent and equipment, and move your vehicle to the assigned parking area with all speed.

3.  Saturday arrivals are to move their vehicles to the unloading area and unload with all possible speed and remove the vehicle to the assigned parking area.

4.  No vehicles are to remain in camp when unloaded regardless of the hour.

5.  At no time after camp goes "1860's" on Friday evening until breaking of camp after the Sunday battle will anyone, military or civilian, adult or child, change into modern clothing in part or total.

6.  Regimental and National Colors will only be flown at each Battalion HQ; no colors are to be flown on company streets.  Battalion infantry markers may be posted to show the divide between infantry battalions.

7.  Roll Calls are to be held each morning within 10 minutes of reveille.  Morning reports should be turned into respective HQ's as soon as possible.

8. Unit Commanders are responsible for the appearance of their company streets/bivouacs.

9.  Weapons inspections are to be held at least one time per day, preferably in the mornings before drills or battles.  Company weapons inspection forms are to be turned in to the Battalion Adjutants as soon as possible.

10.  All weapons will be cleaned and then inspected by the Company Commanders following any drill or scenario where the weapons are discharged. This should take place before the company members are released for other activities.

11.  To participate in any battle scenario, all companies or attached individuals must participate in the scheduled drills previous to that scenario, unless excused by its respective Branch Commander.

12.  Each company will be prepared to participate in or provide troops for any details required.

13.  No hand to hand combat in any circumstance is to be engaged in..

14.  Units should attempt to maintain camps as authentic as possible.  To further our goal as accurate living historians, and to create an environment in which all of our members can have a quality 19th century experience, all anachronistic items need to remain unseen in a unit's camp, cantonment, or garrison from the beginning through the duration of any event.

09:00NCOs drill company- School of the soldier, manual of arms, skirmish drill in sections

11:00Dinner- check gear,  fill canteens

13:00Company drill- School of company, manual of arms, turns, wheels, by company into line, on the right by file into line, loading, firing by comp, by rank, by file, at will, Skirmish drill, Bayonet drill. Clean weapons

16:00Supper-Free Time
