Chaplain Mike Ferguson "Chaplain"

I was born on March 15, 1811 into a family rich in spiritual history and preaching of the gospels. I was raised to preach and to listen to others who just wanted to talk about things. I went into the ministry at the age of 23 in 1834 after graduating from seminary in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I then married my wife, Laura Jean Peebles, on June 8, 1836. It was not until the marriage ceremony that I found out that one of her uncles, "Uncle Robert", was in fact Colonel Robert E. Lee in the United States Army. I had no way of knowing that when the war between the states broke out that he would become the commanding general of the Confederate States of America. Shortly after the war broke out, General Lee asked me to go and serve as a civilian chaplain to the men of Company G of the 16th Arkansas Infantry (C.S.A.). This is where I serve the cause ministering to the brave men in these perilous times.
